Stef is kindly reminded by her pup Pierre, that it’s Jay’s birthday party soon, but Stef can’t find his present anywhere. Luckily as she is searching through her incredibly messy room, an army of clutterbugs arrive to save the day and help Stef sort through her stuff! When she still can’t find the gift, these helpful little creatures suggest a more hands-on approach and encourage Stef to use her creativity to make something new.
With faultless rhyme by Maura Pierlot and colourful and entertaining illustrations by Maya Bora, Clutterbugs is a fun and satisfying read offering the simple, yet wholly important messages; to repurpose and recycle, and how thought and effort are what really give meaning to gifts.
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters in this story. My messy younger self felt seen by Stef (who doesn’t have it all together but is a great creative problem solver) the well meaning and curious clutterbugs and of course Jay, who prizes such a thoughtful present. A delightful read for kids 3+
